After sweeping the first leg of the road trip, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs opened up their series in Charlotte with a 2-1 victory. After trailing 1-0, the Pigs rallied to defeat the Knights at BB&T Ballpark.

Using six pitchers in the game, the Pigs staff stifled the Charlotte offense and limited the Knights to seven hits and 1-for-5 with runners in scoring position. Brandon Leibrandt went 4 2/3 in the start and allowed one run on five hits while striking out three.
Tom Windle (5-2) recorded the final out of the fifth inning before Zac Curtis tossed two perfect innings. Austin Davis protected the lead in the eighth before Pedro Beato earned his IL-leading 17th save by tossing a perfect ninth and striking out one. The Pigs issued only one walk in the contest and have surrendered just five on the road trip.
After the Knights took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second, the Pigs tied the game up in the bottom of the third on a RBI single by Joey Meneses against Charlotte starter Michael Kopech (2-4). With the game tied in the top of the sixth, Alexi Amarista doubled off of Kopech to scored Adron Chambers and put Lehigh Valley ahead.
Chambers extended his hitting streak to six games with a leadoff single in the sixth inning against Kopech.
The IronPigs and Knights resume their three-game series tomorrow night at 7:04 p.m. Ben Lively gets the start for Lehigh Valley against a starter to be determined.
The Pigs return home on Monday, June 11, for an eight-game homestand against the Buffalo Bisons and Pawtucket Red Sox. The Pigs and Bisons will play a Monday-Wednesday with a Tuesday twin bill before the PawSox come to town for a four-game series that runs through the weekend.
