Lehigh Valley used a third inning home run from Trevor Plouffe to take game two of their three-game series in Rochester 6-2. The win maintains the Pigs' dominance over the IL North Division, and now has them at a season-best 14 games above .500.

The offense for Lehigh Valley was relatively quiet early on; it took until the third inning before the Pigs collected their first hit against Aaron Slegers (5-6). After a walk in the third, Plouffe broke the game open for the IronPigs when he hit his ninth home run of the season just inside the foul pole in left field to plate three runs.
Plouffe had a perfect day at the plate going 2-for-2 with his home run and a pair of walks, while Joey Meneses added another good performance, collecting two doubles. Danny Espinosa helped the cause with a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning for an insurance run, while Damek Tomscha put the game away in the ninth with his first Triple-A home run.
While it may not have been the most dominant start for Enyel De Los Santos (8-3), the right-hander was still able to deliver a quality start for Lehigh Valley. Enyel surrendered an early solo home run to Chris Carter in the second inning to give Rochester a short-lived lead. After the Pigs had taken the lead, Zack Granite doubled the second run in for the Red Wings in the fourth inning.
With the series already won, Lehigh Valley will look for a sweep of the three-game set tomorrow afternoon. Cole Irvin will take the mound for the Pigs, with the first pitch coming at 1:05 p.m.
The IronPigs return to Coca-Cola Park on Monday when they welcome the Syracuse Chiefs for a short two-game set. Prior to the game, 3,000 adults (18 and over) will receive a Patriotic T-Shirt, and all fans can bring their furry friends for another TD Bank Dog Day.
