FAN-FAVORITE PROMOTIONS RETURN FOR 2015 SEASON

 

SALEM, VA- The Salem Red Sox released the promotions schedule for the 2015 season today. Among the promotions are fan favorites, Pink in the Park, SuperHero Night, Military Appreciation Night and others.

 

Every Thursday fans will be treated to live music by local bands and dollar beverage specials. Freedom Fridays, sponsored by Freedom First Credit Union will feature a fireworks show after the game, as well as military themed jerseys made possible by the American Red Cross. Fans can participate in "Nine Innings of Winning" presented by the Roanoke Times on Saturdays. Sunday FUNdays are all about the kids; they can run the bases after the games. The player of the week will be on the concourse signing posters for fans after Sunday games.   

 

With a schedule sure to delight fans of all ages, here is a list of games no fan should miss:

 

  • Opening Day gives fans an early start to the weekend on Thursday, April 16. The kick off to the season will feature: live music, dollar beverage specials and post-game fireworks. In addition to the festivities players will be wearing commemorative Virginia Tech remembrance hats to honor those affected by the tragedy eight years ago.
  • Saturday, April 18 the Dare Devil Dogs will be in town to show off their high-flying tricks for fans.
  • May the force be with you on Saturday, May 2 for the first of two Star Wars Nights.
  • Pink in the Park returns for Mother's Day weekend, May 9 and 10. Players will be wearing pink jerseys to be auctioned to benefit Susan G. Komen Virginia Blue Ridge.
  • Don your cape for SuperHero Night, sponsored by Member One on Saturday, May 23.
  • Firefighters and police officers face off pregame in a battle of Guns & Hoses, presented in collaboration with ServPro, on June 6.
  • If you miss Pirate and Princess Night on Friday, June 12, trust us, your kid's won't "Let it Go."
  • Mayberry Deputy Appearance is Friday, June 26.
  • Let your hair down on Saturday, June 27 during Mullet's for Men's Health.
  • It's the 30th anniversary of Back to the Future and the Salem Red Sox will be celebrating the movie on Saturday, July 18. The festivities will be complete with a Delorean Appearance and "Doc Brown" will host the night.
  • StarWars Night, Part Two is ready for action on Friday, August 14.
  • A long history of baseball in Salem will be celebrated on Turn Back the Clock night, sponsored by Salem Health & Rehabilitation Center, on Saturday, August 15. In celebration of 20 years of baseball at LewisGale Field, the players will be wearing throwback Salem Avalanche jerseys.
  • On Friday, August 28 G.I. Joe and WWE Legend Sgt. Slaughter will be in Salem for the final Freedom Friday of the season.
  • The following night, Saturday, August 29 will be Military Appreciation Night presented by Freedom First Credit Union, the Military jerseys, sponsored by the American Red Cross, will be auctioned off. There will also be a military card set giveaway.

 

Baseball season is around the corner; the Salem Red Sox home opener at LewisGale Field on April 16, 2015, at 7:05 p.m., against the Atlanta Braves affiliate Carolina Mudcats.
