Blue Rocks Unveil New, One-of-a-kind Food Option
Wilmington, DE- The Wilmington Blue Rocks are proud to announce a new food item coming to Frawley Stadium in 2015, and are looking for our fans' help to name it. The Blue Rocks have unveiled a brand new and rather unique concoction, the Doughnut Dog.
Fans will be able to purchase a hotdog that comes in a bun made of a traditional glazed doughnut. If that's not distinctive enough for your taste buds, there will also be a hot dog inside a traditional glazed doughnut bun with bacon and raspberry jelly drizzled on top. This invention is what the team needs your help with.
It is missing a name.
Fans are encouraged to go online to BlueRocks.com. There they will find a picture of the new item and can submit their ideas for what the creation should be called. All name nominations must be received by March 17 at 12 noon and the Blue Rocks will announce the six finalists on WSTW's morning show the next day.
From there we will put it to a fan vote via social media, with a winner selected on March 25.
Whatever the final outcome of the naming contest, the Blue Rocks are excited to combine two of America's favorite foods into one tasty concoction.
"The Blue Rocks are always looking for new ways to please our fans, and we think this is certainly going to accomplish that," said Blue Rocks Director of Advertising Sales Brian Radle. "Doughnuts and ballpark hotdogs are two of America's favorite treats, so why not combine them?"
The Blue Rocks, who drew 284,701 fans to Frawley Stadium in 2014 and averaged more than 4,400 patrons per game, have individual tickets, season seats and group packages for the 2015 season on sale now. The home opener is Thursday, April 16 at 6:35 p.m. and tickets for that or any other game this season are available by calling 302-888-BLUE or online at BlueRocks.com.
