Riders announce theme nights, entertainment acts

FRISCO, TEXAS (MARCH 17, 2015) - Following the news of "Full House Night" on Monday, the Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, today announced the team's full slate of special theme nights and entertainment acts for the 2015 season. For the first time, the Riders will bring over 20 unique theme and entertainment nights to Dr Pepper Ballpark. 

Beginning on Opening Weekend, the RoughRiders will host the first-ever "Bark in the Park" game at Dr Pepper Ballpark in which fans may bring their dogs to the game. The first 500 dogs attending the Bark in the Park game on Saturday, April 11 (7:05 p.m.) will receive a free Riders dog bandana. Another Bark in the Park night will be held later in the season on Wednesday, August 26 (7:05 p.m.), with the first 500 dogs receiving a free Riders dog bowl.

On Saturday, May 16 (7:05 p.m.), the RoughRiders will "Paint the Park Pink" by wearing custom pink jerseys. Two weeks later on Saturday, May 30 (7:05 p.m.), the Riders will honor our servicewomen and men by wearing camouflage jerseys for "Military Appreciation Night." For both of these nights, fans will have the opportunity to bid on the game-worn jerseys with proceeds benefitting Women Rock! and the RoughRiders Foundation, respectively.

Other exciting theme night highlights include the previously announced "Full House Night" on Friday, June 12 (7:05 p.m.), along with "Super Splash Day" on Wednesday, June 24 (11:05 a.m.), "Back to the Future Night" on Saturday, July 18 (7:05 p.m.), "Comedy Night" on Friday, July 24 (7:05 p.m.), "Star Wars Night" on Saturday, August 7 (7:05 p.m.), and "College Night" on Saturday, September 5 (7:05 p.m.). 

Also new for this season will be two (2) "People's Choice Nights" on select Friday nights during the 2015 season (exact dates TBD). Throughout the season, fans can submit promotional ideas with the winners publicly credited for inspiring their special theme night at Dr Pepper Ballpark. The RoughRiders will select one fan submission and one media submission for these nights.

In addition to the theme nights, Dr Pepper Ballpark will also host several traveling on-field entertainment acts this season, including the ZOOperstars! (Sunday, April 26 at 4:05 p.m.), the Russian Bar Trio (Friday, May 15 at 7:05 p.m.), Reggy - The Purple Party Dude (Friday, May 29 at 7:05 p.m.) and Breakin' B-Boy McCoy (Friday, August 28 at 7:05 p.m.).

Single-game tickets for the Riders' 2015 season go on sale on Wednesday, March 18 at 10 a.m. at the Dr Pepper Ballpark box office, www.RidersBaseball.com and by calling (972) 731-9200. The first 15 fans to purchase tickets in-person at Dr Pepper Ballpark will receive a free RoughRiders t-shirt featuring the new team logo.

The 13th season of Frisco RoughRiders baseball begins on Thursday, April 9 at 7:05 p.m. when the Riders take on the Arkansas Travelers in what promises to be an unforgettable experience. Opening Day will be the season's first Thirsty Thursday/Groovy Grubesday and marks the first game in a new era of Riders baseball, with the debut of the club's new logo, uniforms and color scheme.
