Help Name the OKC Dodgers' New Mascots

Fans can submit their nominations online and through social media
March 18, 2015

OKLAHOMA CITY - As the Oklahoma City Dodgers get ready to begin a new era of baseball in Oklahoma City, the OKC Dodgers are relying on their fans to help name the team's two new mascots.

Now through March 25, fans can submit their nominations for new mascot names by clicking here or through social media by using #okcdodgersmascot. Before making their nominations, fans will be able to see previews of what the new mascots are going to look like. The mascots will be based off a common animal whose breed has specific ties to the state of Oklahoma, and there will be both a male and female mascot.

"In Minor League Baseball, the players can change on a daily basis throughout the season, but the mascots are an important constant," said OKC Dodgers President/General Manager Michael Byrnes. "The mascots, in a sense, serve as the faces of our franchise, so it's really important we find the right names fans can identify with."

After all nominations have been submitted, the OKC Dodgers will narrow down the field to the top three names for each mascot and fans will vote for their favorites March 26-31. In addition to voting online and through social media, fans will able to cast their votes during "First Look Fan Fest" at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark on March 28.

The names of the new mascots will be revealed on April 2.

The Oklahoma City Dodgers start their 2015 season Thursday, April 9 against the Round Rock Express. For more about the 2015 season or other "March to Opening Day" events, please call (405) 218-1000 or visit okcdodgers.com.
