Brian Walker Announces Retirement
Walker signed with the Angels as a 29th round selection in the 2007 draft after a three-year career at the University of Arkansas. The 23-year old joined the Travs during the 2008 Texas League Championship season and spent parts of three seasons with the club playing 89 games and batting .221 with eight home runs and 44 runs batted in. He'd been in the midst of a solid 2010 campaign with a .258 batting average, four home runs and 23 runs batted in when he decided to retire.
Filling Walker's spot on the Travs roster is infielder Kevin Ramos, who spent two days on the Rancho Cucamonga roster before being reassigned back to the Travelers.
