Whitecaps add Pankakes to food lineup

April 8, 2015

Comstock Park, MI - Opening Day is tomorrow and the West Michigan Whitecaps are expanding their menu to highlight one of their newest players! Joey Pankake is a second baseman for the team and starting on Thursday, April 9, the Whitecaps Opening Day, fans can get "The Joey Pankakes."

Consisting of two alternating layers of pancakes, hickory flavored pulled pork and bacon, it is then all topped with a generous helping of syrup. The Joey Pankakes satisfy the foodie in just about everyone. Whitecaps President Scott Lane thinks fans will enjoy this item. "When you add bacon and syrup to give you that salty and sweet taste it is mmm tasty!"

The Joey Pankakes will join the new food line-up alongside other items such as the Hot-to-Tot (the 2015 fan vote winner), the Deep Fried Nutella (recently featured on buzzfeed.com), Chicken and Waffle Bites and Oreo Churros. Fans will find the newest culinary delight at the Sweet Meats concession stand along the third base concourse.

The Whitecaps open the 2015 season on Thursday, April 9 against the Dayton Dragons at 6:35 pm. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased by phone at 616-784-4131, online at www.whitecapsbaseball.com, or in person from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Fifth Third Ballpark.
