'Baseball from the Beginning' Exhibit
Starting on Opening Day and running through the month of May, the Buffalo Bisons Hall of Fame and Heritage Room at Coca-Cola Field, presented by ADPRO Sports, celebrates old time baseball.
The exhibit focuses on the earliest days of the game and runs through what was known as the Dead Ball Era of 1900-1920.
"We are very excited to have secured some wonderful vintage bats, balls, gloves and other period equipment, some of which is on loan to us from the Rochester Baseball Historical Society. Come out to the ballpark and see these wonderful relics, some which date back to the Civil War" said John Boutet the HOF and Heritage Room Archivist and Curator. "The game of Baseball was in its infancy back then and experimentation was at its peak.
The equipment we now have on display shows just how far the game has developed over the last 165 years". The exhibit is always free of charge and is fun for fans of all ages.
The Hall of Fame and Heritage Room is located in the main concourse of Coca-Cola Field directly inside the Swan St. gate near section 107. It opens one hour before first pitch and stays open through the 3rd inning of each game.
