Freddy García está de vuelta con Sultanes
Monterrey, N.L. (www.sultanes.com.mx / Homar Rojas Cavazos ) 7 de abril.- El pitcher venezolano Freddy García está de regreso con los Sultanes de Monterrey y listo para debutar el próximo viernes en el primero de la serie ante Saraperos de Saltillo.
"Me siento muy contento de estar de regreso, estoy listo para entregar el máximo en la loma", expresó el derecho a su arribo la mañana del miércoles al Estadio Monterrey.
García llegó el año pasado al beisbol mexicano con los Olmecas de Tabasco dejando (1-2, 5.67) en seis aperturas y cerrando con Sultanes (3-1, 2.55) en cinco aperturas.
De 39 años, viene a reforzar con su experiencia la rotación de pitcheo encabezada por Javier Solano, Marco Tovar, Alfredo Aceves y Édgar González.
En Grandes Ligas jugó durante 15 años, debutando con Seattle en 1999 y pasando por Medias Blancas, Filis, Tigres, Yankees, Orioles y Bravos. Su mejor año fue en 2001 con Seattle (18-6, 3.05) en 34 aperturas.
Además estuvo presente con la Liga Americana en los Juegos de Estrellas en 2001 y 2002 representando a Seattle. En 2005 fue campeón de Serie Mundial con Medias Blancas de Chicago de Ozzie Guillén.
SULTANES REFUERZA ÁREA DE COMUNICACIÓN
Buscando explotar todos los canales de comunicación y de llegar a todas todo tipo de público, el Club Sultanes de Monterrey se ha reforzado en el área de comunicación con las incorporaciones de Guillermo Garza Castro, Homar Rojas Cavazos y Francisco Rodríguez Bojórquez, uniéndose a Edgardo Arrambide y José Isabel Anguiano Yañez.
Guillermo Garza Castro, nacido un 18 de agosto de 1970 en Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, es licenciado en Comercio Exterior, iniciándose en la crónica en la campaña de 1989 con los Tecolotes de Nuevo Laredo logrando ese año el título. De 1999 al 2001 ganó el Trofeo Cuauhtémoc al Cronista del Año otorgado por la Liga Mexicana de Beisbol. Durante la primera vuelta de la campaña 2013-14 fue parte de las transmisiones de los Tomateros de Culiacán. Actualmente vive su tercera temporada como cronista viajero de los Sultanes de Monterrey y voz del Estadio Monterrey.
Homar Alejandro Rojas Cavazos, nacido un 2 de junio de 1988 en Vero Beach, Florida, es licenciado en Periodismo y Medios de información por el Tec de Monterrey, iniciándose en la crónica en la campaña 2010 en las transmisiones de Radio NL con Sultanes de Monterrey. Ese mismo año, arrancó junto con Óscar Soria y Guillermo Valencia en la crónica de TV con Naranjeros de Hermosillo, con quienes en 2013-14 lograron el campeonato. Desde 2011 es parte de la crónica de TV con Sultanes de Monterrey junto a Tony Salazar y Alejandro Campos, narrando con el primero el primer juego Sin Hit Ni Carrera en el Estadio Monterrey por Walter Silva el 11 de Julio del 2012, 23-0 ante Aguascalientes. En invierno ha narrado también para Yaquis de Ciudad Obregón y Mayos de Navojoa. Actualmente vive su séptima temporada para la organización regiomontana.
Juan Francisco Rodríguez Bojórquez, nacido un 6 de diciembre de 1989 en Los Mochis, Sinaloa, es Licenciado en Diseño Gráfico y Técnico en Producción Audiovisual. Se inició en el beisbol en 2013 como parte del equipo de comunicación y medios de Cañeros de los Mochis en invierno y Saraperos de Saltillo en verano. Desarrolló en la temporada 2015-16 un importante programa de participación social con Cañeros de Los Mochis. La fotografía, video y edición, y todo lo relacionado con multimedia, son algunas de sus grandes pasiones, en las cuales estará apoyando a partir de esta campaña para Sultanes de Monterrey.
Ellos se suman a José Isabel Anguiano, Informáticas y Sistemas y Edgardo Arrambide, Gerente de Medios del equipo.
