Smith to rehab in Brevard County

Brewers reliever to join Manatees on Tuesday
May 23, 2016

VIERA - Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Will Smith will be assigned to the Brevard County Manatees as a part of a rehab assignment. Smith will be on the active roster for the Manatees beginning on Tuesday, as Brevard County plays the first of a six-game home stand against the Clearwater Threshers.

Smith was placed on the disabled list on April 2, retroactive to March 25, after tearing the LCL in his right knee. He is scheduled to pitch for the Manatees on Tuesday and once more during the home stand.

Acquired in December 2013 in a trade with the Kansas City Royals, Smith has pitched in 154 games since joining the Brewers and led the National League in appearances in 2014. Smith has also struck out 177 batters in 129 innings during his two seasons in Milwaukee.
