Nate Fury (0-2) tossed a scoreless seventh for the Sixers but ran into trouble in the eighth. With one out in the frame Trevino singled, his third hit of the game. With two outs in the inning Josh Morgan was hit by a pitch. Kevin Torres then hit a bouncing ball over the mound that hopped over the shortstop for a bad hop single. Trevino scored from second on the play. The ball was overrun in center for an error and allowed Morgan to score the go-ahead run all the way from first.
