Brewers sign RHP Tayler Scott and has been assigned to Biloxi
BILOXI, MS. - The Milwaukee Brewers have announced the following roster moves that affect the Shuckers' roster prior to tonight's 7:10 pm contest against the Jacksonville Suns at MGM Park. RHP Adrian Houser has been placed on the 7-day DL, retroactive to July 4 and RHP Tayler Scott has been signed by the Brewers and assigned to Biloxi.
Houser, 23, last started on June 23 against Montgomery, allowing 3 runs (2 earned) on 5 hits over 4.0 innings, walking 2 and striking out 4. Houser, overall is 3-7 with a 5.25 ERA in 13 starts and 70.1 innings, striking out 56 and walking 22. The Locust Grove, Okla. native finished a stellar month of June, posting a 2.35 ERA (6er, 23ip) with 20 strikeouts and 6 walks.
Houser was originally drafted by the Houston Astros in the 2nd round in 2011 and was acquired by Milwaukee, along with LHP Josh Hader and outfielders Brett Phillips and Domingo Santana for RHP Mike Fiers and outfielder Carlos Gomez on July 30, 2015.
Scott, 24, had his contract purchased by the Brewers from the Independent American Associations Sioux City Explorers and been assigned to Biloxi. Scott was drafted originally by the Chicago Cubs in the 5th round of the 2011 Draft from Notre Dame Prep High School (Scottsdale, AZ). A native of Johannesburg, South Africa, Scott got his first taste of professional baseball in 2011 playing at the rookie level in the Arizona League. Scott was impressive in 2012 pitching for the Cubs affiliate in Boise, ID where he made 15 starts on the mound, tossing 71.1 innings, allowing just 66 hits while accumulating 43 strikeouts and owning a 2.52 ERA to go along with his 5-1 record. Following the 2012 season, Baseball America ranked Scott as the Northwest League's #17 prospect.
Scott continued rising through the Cubs system making 24 starts at the Class A level in 2013 and making 26 more starts in 2014 for the Advanced-A Daytona Cubs. The 6-3 right-hander moved to the bullpen last season and in 11 games with Myrtle Beach he posted a 2-2 record with a miniscule 1.96 ERA while striking out 27 to just 6 walks with 2 saves. Scott owned the Carolina League's fifth-lowest opponents' batting average against at .197 and third most strikeouts per nine innings pitched at a 9.90 average. For his efforts, Scott was promoted to the Double-A Tennessee and finished the season there appearing in 15 games out of the bullpen while owning a 4-1 record with a save in 31 innings pitched.
In 17 games with the Explorers this season, Scott has posted a 1.88 earned run average while recording 32 strikeouts and only six walks in 28.2 innings pitched.
The Shuckers' current roster is made up of 25 active players and four on the disabled list.

Biloxi will attempt to pull ahead of Jacksonville in the five-game set in game three at MGM Park tonight at 7:10 pm. LHP Wei-Chung Wang (3-3, 3.75) takes his 0.61 ERA after the All-Star break into the action for the Shuckers against the Suns' LHP Eric Jokish (0-0, 0.00) First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m., with coverage starting at 6:50 p.m. on the Biloxi Shuckers' Radio Network's flagship station WGCM 1240 AM, 100.9 FM, Pascagoula's WPMO 1580 AM and the TuneIn Radio app.
