Eight Exciting Days Await Sky Sox At Home

Three fireworks shows highlight last eight game homestand of season.

The Colorado Springs Sky Sox will be back at Security Service Field on Friday, August 12 to begin an eight game homestand, which features back-to-back four game sets against the Albuquerque Isotopes, Triple-A Affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, and the El Paso Chihuahuas, Triple-A Affiliate of the San Diego Padres.  

After the 7:05 p.m. game on Friday, August 12, Friday Fireworks return sponsored by Kaiser Permanente. Fireworks will light up the night sky after the game to Classic Rock music.

Saturday features the 8th annual SKYFEST celebration. The theme will be Harry Potter Night sponsored by CenturyLink. Following the 6:05 p.m. game, the biggest fireworks show of the season will light up the sky set to Harry Potter music. The fireworks show will be twice the size of the the Independence Day show. In addition, Golden Snitches will be hidden throughout the park for fans to find for prizes. Harry Potter, Ron, Hermione, Professor Snape, and Professor McGonagall will interact and take photos with fans.

Sunday's day game features a slew of promotions, beginning with 50 cent hot dogs courtesy of Albertsons/Safeway. The first 1,000 fans to enter before the 1:35 p.m. game will receive a blue and orange championship football courtesy of Colorado Springs Utilities. Following the game, kids club members will have the opportunity to run the bases and all fans will have the chance to walk around the warning track as part of the Walk the Sox program courtesy of UC Health.

On Monday, Kids Eat Free courtesy of ARC Thrift Stores. Must-Win Monday also returns on August 1, guaranteeing a free ticket to a the Sky Sox final Monday home game, August 29 against New Orleans, with a Sox win and valid ticket from the game.

$2 Tuesdays return on August 16 for the opener of the El Paso series courtesy of South Colorado Springs Nissan. Fans can enjoy $2 tickets, parking, and Coors and Coors Light through the seventh inning.

On Wednesday, fans can bring their dogs to the park for the last Bark in the Park night of the season sponsored by Camp Bow Wow and Wag N Wash. Tickets for fans wishing to bring their dogs are $5 for the grassy berm down the third base line and dogs are free.

Thursday night's game will be $3 Thirsty Thursday sponsored by Rocky Mountain Coors. Thursday's game also will be the final Military Appreciation Night of the season, sponsored by Convergys. The Sky Sox will be wearing and auctioning their special red, white, and blue alternate jerseys for the game. Throughout the contest, fans will have the opportunity to bid on the game-used and autographed jerseys. Current, veteran, and former members of the military can pickup free tickets at their base's MWR office.

The homestand concludes with the final Friday Fireworks show of 2016 on August 19. Fireworks will light up the night sky after the game to the tunes of college fight songs. Also, the Long Haul Bombers will be at Security Service Field on Friday as part of their Stadium Power Tour. Before the game, the Bombers will briefly display their power before unleashing everything they have following the 7:05 p.m. game. Following the game, select Boy Scouts will have the unique opportunity to spend the night in the Security Service Field outfield as part of the Boy Scout sleepover.
