Jose Espada picks up third win
BLUEFIELD---The Blue Jays defeated the Cardinals Sunday night 9-5 at Bowen Field.
With the score tied 3-3 going into the bottom of the 4th, Bluefield poured on five runs in to jump out to an 8-3 lead.
Reggie Pruitt kept up his consistent offensive production, going 2 for 5 with 2 RBI and a two runs scored. Javier Monzon added his fourth triple on the season and also knotched 2 RBI.
Jose Espada went 5.0 IP allowing four hits and 3 ER and 1 SO to improve to 3-4. David Oca fell to (2-3) with the loss.
Bluefield is now 36-27 on the year and currently in second place in the Appy League East. They will close out the series Monday against Johnson City at Bowen Field at 7:05.
