Triple-A All-Star voting returns online

May 17, 2007
Triple-A Baseball and Major League Baseball Advanced Media LP (MLBAM) are excited to announce that fans across the country will once again have the opportunity to vote online for their favorite players to be selected to the Triple-A All-Star Game. This year's contest will be held at Isotopes Park in Albuquerque, N.M., on July 11 at 7:35 p.m. EDT, and will match selected outstanding players from the International League and the Pacific Coast League.

Fan balloting will be held June 1-22 and will account for one-third of the total vote, along with ballots cast by members of the media and each club's field manager, coaches and general manager. Using MLBAM online voting services, fans will be able to access the ballots at the official web sites of Minor League Baseball (www.MiLB.com), the Pacific Coast League (www.PCLBaseball.com), the International League (www.ILBaseball.com) and the web sites of all 30 Triple-A teams.

All fans who participate in the online balloting will be able to vote for players from both the IL and PCL rosters. Fans can select one player for each of the infield positions, plus three outfielders, a designated hitter and four pitchers -- two starters and two relievers. Write-in votes for players not listed on the ballot will also be accepted. Up-to-date statistics and position-by-position comparisons will be available at the click of a mouse to help fans make their selections. Updates will be made available weekly for both leagues. Once the balloting period is over, fans can check the aforementioned web sites for updates and features leading up to the All-Star Game.

Upon completion of an online ballot, fans will also be invited to enter the "Make Yourself a Triple-A All-Star" Sweepstakes. In conjunction with MLBAM, Triple-A Baseball will be providing two winning contestants with a prize package that includes Triple-A All-Star Game memorabilia, two autographed baseballs and a complete set of Triple-A All-Star Game baseball cards. The Sweepstakes will run concurrently with the balloting, beginning June 1 and ending June 22. Fans can register up to five times for their chance to win.

Contestants who don't wish to enter online may enter the sweepstakes by printing their name, address, city, state and ZIP code, day and evening telephone number and e-mail address (optional) to: Make Yourself a Triple-A All-Star Sweepstakes c/o Baseball Advanced Media, 75 Ninth Avenue, New York, NY 10011. Mail-in entries must be postmarked by Friday, June 22, 2007.
