Jimerson duplicates three-homer game a year later

Charlton Jimerson slugged three home runs, including a walk-off shot in the ninth inning, on Tuesday to power the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx to a 5-4 victory over visiting Tennessee, 5-4, on Tuesday.

Jimerson drove in all five of the Diamond Jaxx's runs. He smacked solo homers in the first and third innings and added a two-run, game-tying double in the sixth before launching the game-winning blast.

The 27-year-old center fielder had two hits in his previous 17 at-bats for West Tenn (24-28). Jimerson also hit three homers against Albuquerque for Triple-A Round Rock on May 28, 2006.

Kameron Mickolio (3-0) picked up the win by striking out one in a perfect ninth. Starter Andrew Baldwin allowed four runs on six hits while striking out four and walking two in 5 1/3 innings.

Smokies reliever Gregory Reinhard (0-1) took the loss after giving up a run on one hit with a strikeout in 1 1/3 innings. Starter Kevin Hart allowed two runs on seven hits while fanning three and walking two in four frames.

Josh Kroeger belted a three-run homer, his eighth, in the first and Jorge Cortes added an RBI single in the second for Tennessee (27-23).
