Palm Beach Sends Five to Daytona for All-Star Game
JUPITER, FL - Florida State League All-Star Game selections have been made for the 2007 mid summer classic. The Palm Beach Cardinals have five players that were voted to attend the All Star Game in Daytona on June 16, 2007.
Representing the Palm Beach Cardinals will be pitchers Luke Gregerson, Adam Ottavino, and Tyler Norrick and infielders Allen Craig and Mark Hamilton.
Gregerson became Palm Beach's closer after beginning the year as their set up man in the bullpen. He has anchored the bullpen with 11 saves and an ERA of 1.23. Starting pitcher's Adam Ottavino and Tyler Norrick are the cornerstones of the Cardinals rotation. Ottavino has a record of 3-4 with an ERA of 3.31. The power right-hander has struck out 56 in 49 innings of work. Norrick leads the team with five wins and has the lowest starting pitcher ERA of 2.89.
Third/First Baseman Allen Craig is a FSL Triple Crown contender placing among the league leaders in batting avg. (.318), home runs (10), and RBI (36). Joining Craig is First Base/Designated Hitter, Mark Hamilton. Hamilton has been an offensive force with a batting average of .290 with five home runs and 34 RBI's.
