Fasano returns to Chiefs

SYRACUSE (NY) - After spending under three weeks with the Syracuse Chiefs to open the 2007 season, Sal Fasano is back in the Salt City. Fasano joins the Chiefs after being designated for assignment by Toronto on June 13.

Fasano had his contract purchased by the Blue Jays on April 25 after hitting .317 in 12 games with the Chiefs. The veteran catcher homered five times in 41 at bats in Tripe-A. He played in 16 games with Toronto, batting .178 with one home run and four runs batted in.

Fasano has played in more than 400 Major League games for the Royals, A's, Rockies, Angels, Orioles, Phillies, Yankees and Blue Jays.
