Please keep in mind that the majority of our employees are positioned in either the Concession Stands or Turkey Mike's BBQ. If you are interested in a position currently filled you may still list it as a preference on your application and you will be considered if the position becomes available.
Concessions- Beverage Deck Attendant
The Beverage Deck is where most fans go to purchase beer and other alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. Responsibilities include: preparing, serving, and selling beverages such as beer, mixed drinks, water, and soft drinks; setting up concessions-related equipment and sale items; maintaining product par levels and inventory control items; storing concessions items according to posted beverage storage instructions; assisting with the upkeep, cleaning and maintenance of concessions stands and equipment; processing beverage transactions including extensive cash handling; maintaining your individual sales area in a neat and orderly fashion; complying with applicable health codes and safety rules; serving alcoholic beverages in accordance with the state and local restriction, and performing related concessions duties as assigned. All Beverage Deck Attendants must meet certain qualifications to be eligible to serve. Qualifications include: prior restaurant and/or cash handling experience; strong organizational and customer service skills; and availability to work a variety of hours including weekdays, weekends and most evenings. In accordance with California state liquor laws, this position may only be filled by an employee 18 or over.
Concessions Stand Staff
The San Jose Giants Concession Stands are where the fans go to get traditional stadium fare such as hot dogs, pizza, and beer. Municipal Stadium features two concession stands, each staffed with 10 -15 people. Positions include cashiers and cooks. Responsibilities include: preparing, serving, and selling concessions food items such as popcorn, soda, nachos, and beer; setting up concessions-related equipment and sale items; maintaining product par levels and inventory control items; storing concessions items according to posted food storage instructions; assisting with the upkeep, cleaning and maintenance of concessions stands and equipment; processing food and beverage transactions including extensive cash handling; maintaining your individual sales area in a neat and orderly fashion; complying with applicable health codes and safety rules; serving alcoholic beverages in accordance with the state and local restriction, and performing related concessions duties as assigned. All Concessions Staff must meet certain qualifications to be eligible to serve. Concessions - Turkey Mike's BBQ Staff
Turkey Mike's BBQ is one of the most popular attractions in Municipal Stadium, and serves some of the best food in Minor League Baseball. Turkey Mike's is an outdoor BBQ pit, with most of the food prepared on-site. Turkey Mike's BBQ Staff must have a strong work ethic, be friendly with fans and co-workers, and be prepared to handle large crowds. Positions include cooks, servers, and cashiers. Responsibilities include: preparing, serving, and selling concessions food items such as ribs, chicken, burgers, etc.; setting up concessions-related equipment and sale items; maintaining product par levels and inventory control items; storing concession items according to posted food storage instructions; assisting with the upkeep, cleaning and maintenance of concessions stands and equipment; processing food and beverage transactions including extensive cash handling; maintaining your individual sales area in a neat and orderly fashion; complying with applicable health codes and safety rules; serving alcoholic beverages in accordance with the state and local restrictions; and performing related concessions duties as assigned. All Turkey Mikes BBQ Staff must meet certain qualifications to be eligible to serve. Qualifications include: prior restaurant and/or cash handling experience; strong organizational and customer service skills; and availability to work a variety of hours including weekdays, weekends and most evenings.
Concessions - Warehouse Attendant Staff
As a warehouse attendant, your job will focus on facilitating product to our sale areas. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean an organized storeroom, and getting requested product as quickly as possible to ensure prompt customer service at point of sale. Attendants will be required to maintain inventory transfer records, and submit them nightly. Attendants will also cross check vendor submissions to ensure their accuracy. Qualifications include: prior restaurant and/or stock room experience; strong organizational and customer service skills; the ability to consistently lift up to 50 lbs, and availability to work a variety of hours including weekdays, weekends and most evenings.
Field Intern
The Field Intern will shadow, learn from, and assist the Vice President of Baseball Operations and the Head Groundskeeper, and perform in areas such as, but not limited to: Infield skin maintenance; Mound, home plate and bullpen repair; Sod work, fertilization, pest management; Water removal/tarp crew during inclement weather; Working all San Jose Giants home games; Field Maintenance when team is away and Landscape planning, implementing, and upkeep. Responsibilities include: Learn basic fundamentals of raking, mowing and repairing mound and plate areas after each use; Monitor local weather and assist in tarp situations; Assist Managers as needed; Learn basic maintenance and care of mowers and other equipment; Learn to sod worn areas of turf; Paint logos, lines and other designs on playing field; Learn to maintain parameters of a yearly budget; Learn to manage and maintain a professional playing surface and flexibility to accept additional game responsibilities.
Qualified candidate should be working towards the completion of a college degree, preferably specializing in turf management. Individual must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Up to 50% of schedule can be physical work with routine exposure to extreme temperatures (hot and cold), dust and airborne particles. Applicant will be required to work flexible, event based schedule. This is a seasonal position with potential for advancement.
Food and Beverage Intern
The San Jose Giants are seeking a Food and Beverage Intern to work directly with the Assistant General Manager on all aspects of daily stadium operations at Municipal Stadium. The food & beverage intern will supervise the concession profit centers during each game, oversee product inventory including ordering and receiving product deliveries, set-up, maintain, and close down concession operations for seasonal use, ensure all food and beverage operations are maintained in a clean and professional manner, train all food and beverage employees focusing on providing friendly and fast service, create staff schedules for food and beverage employees, ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health code standards, actively create plans to help increase profit goals while limiting expenses, including menu planning, labor consolidation, and waste reduction, work with Sales Department to ensure group packages are being executed correctly, and maintain and develop reports to identify and solve operation problems, including purchasing reports, inventory reports, labor reports, etc.
Qualified candidate should be working towards the completion of a college degree, preferably specializing in hospitality or sports management. Individual must have a valid driver's license and be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Fun Zone Attendant
Individual needed to manage the inflatable kid's games and activities at all San Jose Giants home games. The Family Fun Zone Attendant will keep track of contests, take Kid's Zone tickets, and monitor fans participating in the activities and games. Individual must be able to handle monetary transactions and lines of people, have an outgoing personality, enjoy working with children, and be willing to acquire general knowledge of the San Jose Giants Baseball Club and ballpark. Prior experience working with children in a kid-friendly environment strongly preferred. Qualifications must include: strong communication skills, the ability to work effectively in a public environment, availability to work a variety of hours including weekdays, weekends and most evenings, dependability, and being self-motivated.
Parking Attendant
Individual needed to oversee parking operations during San Jose Giants home games. The Parking Attendant is responsible for pre-game set-up and post-game breakdown of parking and directional devices; controlling traffic, directing guests to the most appropriate parking area, issuing parking tickets and collect parking fees using approved cash handling procedures; preparing the post-game parking report and cash reconciliation; actively seeking interaction with guests to communicate in ways that enhance their ballpark experience; actively seeking opportunities to create MVP Moments and special memories for our guests; enforcing the facility's policies and procedures to ensure the best experience for all ballpark guests; reporting potential issues or concerns to a supervisor for resolution as needed; working with all Team Members to maintain an extremely clean and professional facility, which includes light cleaning and notifying supervisors of any spills, garbage, or safety concerns; and performing all other duties assigned to ensure a safe and enjoyable event for our guests. Qualifications must include: strong communication skills, the ability to work effectively in a public environment, availability to work a variety of hours including weekdays, weekends and most evenings, dependability, and being self-motivated must possess excellent customer service skills. Previous Guest Services and/or cash handling experience preferred.
Postgame Cleaning Crew Member
This position works to ensure Municipal Stadium is clean prior to all San Jose Giants home games and non-San Jose Giants events. The crew will be responsible for cleaning immediately following each game, most shifts are from 10:00 PM until 3:00 AM. Duties include but are not limited to: picking up trash from seating bowl, blowing of seating bowl and bleachers, clean and restocking restrooms, cleaning concourse, removing trash/recycling, etc. Must possess the ability to work various hours as needed including nights and weekends; the physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and walk long distances. Ability to work outdoors with extreme heat and weather conditions and able to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Prior janitorial experience preferred.
Program and Scorecard Vendor
Individual needed to greet fans and capture their attention as they enter Municipal Stadium for San Jose Giants home games. The program hawker will be positioned at the front entrance and be one of the first members of the Game Staff fans will encounter. Therefore, it is important to be outgoing and approachable, have a strong and clear confident voice, make a good first impression, and grab the fans' attention. The Program and Scorecard Vendor is also responsible for preparing the scorecard and must therefore be reliable and well organized.
Retail Merchandise Sales Person
As a retail employee, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing retail items for sale, operating the cash register and assisting with all aspects of running a retail operation such as store maintenance, upkeep and stocking. Qualifications must include; ability to lift and move boxes and merchandise items (must be able to lift at least 30 lbs.), and must be able to work all San Jose Giants home games including weekdays, weekends, and evenings. Individual needed to staff portable merchandise cart. Position requires getting fans attention and encouraging them to purchase merchandise. Will be located in the front of the stadium in the Family Fun Zone and may also be required to vend merchandise in the stands. Must be outgoing and approachable, have a strong, clear, confident voice, make a good first impression and grab the fans' attention.
Ticket Taker
Individuals needed to welcome fans, scan tickets, and control items entering the stadium at the front gate (with the help of hired security). Ticket takers are the first line of employees as fans enter Municipal Stadium and must therefore be friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable about general San Jose Giants information. Individual must work well under pressure, be very enthusiastic and cooperative, and have excellent communication skills.
Usher and Courtesy Crew Member
The San Jose Giants Courtesy Crew assists fans throughout the game. As a member of the Courtesy Crew, responsibilities include: providing guests with the best service experience imaginable; assisting guests with basic team and stadium inquiries including seating information; actively seeking interaction with guests to communicate in ways that enhance their ballpark experience; actively seeking opportunities to create MVP Moments and special memories for our guests; participating in game entertainment segments such as dances, contests and cheers; enforcing the facility's policies and procedures to ensure the best experience for all ballpark guests; reporting potential fan issues or concerns to a supervisor for resolution as needed; maintaining minor crowd control before, during, and after games or special events; working with all Team Members to maintain an extremely clean and professional facility, this includes light cleaning and notifying supervisors of any spills, garbage, or safety concerns; greet guests entering and exiting the stadium in a courteous manner including saying "Welcome to Municipal Stadium"; assisting with the distribution of promotional items as directed; and performing all other assigned duties to ensure a safe and enjoyable event for our Guests. Qualifications must include: proficient communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a public environment, dependable, self-motivated, an excellent listener, ability and willingness to explain and enforce facility policies in a courteous manner; and availability to work a variety of hours including weekdays, weekends and most evenings. Previous customer service experience preferred. Knowledge of basic baseball rules and scoring required.
