Jeremy Sowers recalled to Cleveland

The Cleveland Indians today announced the club has recalled LHP Jeremy Sowers from the Bisons. To allow room on the Major League roster, the Indians designated OF Jason Tyner for assignment.

Sowers is 2-2 with a 2.21 ERA in seven starts with the Bisons this year (40.2 IP, 34 H, 11 R, 10 ER, 14 BB, 26 K). His 2.21 ERA ranks fifth in the International League.

Sowers has already made one spot start for Cleveland this year. On Saturday, April 26, against the New York Yankees, he earned a no-decision with 5 1/3 innings of work (ND, 5.1 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 3 K).
