Umpire School doubles participation
Seven Professional Baseball Umpire Corp (PBUC™) supervisors and a medical coordinator are instructing attendees during the 28-day course that runs through Feb. 3. They are being assisted by 10 Minor League Baseball™ umpires, resulting in a favorable student-to-teacher ratio of less than 4-to-1. PBUC oversees the training and employment of umpires in the Minor League Baseball system throughout the United States and Canada, and provides lead instructors for TUS.
"The doubling of enrollment, and the fact that The Umpire School is now a fully licensed State of Florida school, validates the vision of those who decided to open it," TUS executive director, Justin Klemm, said. "The extremely low student-to-teacher ratio is a tremendous benefit to our attendees in their development as umpires as they strive to reach their personal and professional goals."
