Blue Jays Acquire Tallet from Cleveland
The Toronto Blue Jays have acquired LHP Brian Tallet from the Cleveland Indians in exchange for RHP Bubbie Buzachero.
Tallet, 28, has appeared in nine games in the Major Leagues with the Cleveland Indians, including five starts. He holds a 1-2 record with a 3.48 ERA at the Major League level. The Indians selected the 6-7, 220 lb. lefthander in the 2nd round of the 2000 First Year Player Draft. In 2005, with Buffalo of the International League (AAA), he pitched to a 6-5 record with a 4.05 ERA in 22 appearances, including 17 starts.
Buzachero, 24, was drafted in the 23rd round of the 2002 First Year Player Draft by the Blue Jays. He has spent four seasons in the Blue Jays Minor League system, pitching to an 8-9 record with 41 saves and 3.17 ERA. Last season with Class AA New Hampshire he held a 4-5 record with a 3.97 ERA.
Tallet has been added to the Blue Jays 40-man roster, which now stands at 40 players. In all, 57 players have now been invited to attend Spring Training with the Blue Jays.
