Hague and Hood Go Deep, Sens Win 8-2
Harrisburg, PA - Ricky Hague's three-run homer highlighted a five-run fourth inning, and the Harrisburg Senators rolled to an 8-2 victory over the Reading Fightin Phils in front of 5,863 fans at Metro Bank Park. The Senators now lead the series two games to one.
The Fightin Phils scored a run in the top of the first to take an early lead, but the Senators bounced back in the bottom half to tie it on Jimmy Van Ostrand's RBI single off Reading starter Jesse Biddle.
Tyson Gillies hit a solo home run in the second to put Reading back on top, but the Senators got to Biddle in the fourth. Hague's long ball, his fourth of the season, was drilled deep down the left field line. Sandy Leon also drove in a run with a double, and Steven Souza Jr. came through with an RBI single.
Destin Hood provided some insurance with a towering homer to left-center in the eighth inning, a two-run shot and his third of the year.
Paul Demny tossed seven outstanding innings, giving up just five hits and one earned run. The right-hander walked one and struck out nine.
