Igawa sets new SWB record

Write another record into the books.

Kei Igawa set the new Scranton/Wilkes-Barre franchise record for most career wins in the Yankees' 2-1 victory Tuesday night over the Columbus Clippers.

That was Igawa's eighth win on the season and the 27th of his career.

He threw seven scoreless innings, allowing only four hits and one walk. He had four strikeouts, throwing 62 strikes over 90 pitches.

The sole Clippers run came in the eighth inning off an RBI single against Damaso Marte.

Yurendell de Caster posted his third home run of the season in the second inning to start the Yankee scoring.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre added another run in the seventh, when Colin Curtis -- who hit his fifth double of the year -- scored from third on an Eric Duncan groundout.

Luis Nunez also posted his first hit in Triple-A since May 19 -- a single with two outs in the seventh.

The Yankees face the Clippers Wednesday at 7:05 p.m.
