Former San Diego Padre Mike Baxter went 4-for-4 with a walk against his former organization.
El Paso starter Keyvius Sampson, who entered with a 1.08 ERA through his first two starts, allowed nine runs, all earned, on seven hits in 3.1 innings of work. Former Isotope Tim Sexton pitched 2.2 innings of scoreless relief for the Chihuahuas. The Chihuahuas tried to get back into the game in the ninth inning, putting together a four-hit rally, but the resulting two runs were too little, too late.
