OnPoint HR Challenge Raised $900 in April

$100 goes to charity with every Drive Home Run!
May 10, 2010
All season long, and with every home run hit at home by the Greenville Drive, Brian Clark and the OnPoint CFO & Controller Services team smile a bit more broadly.

As president of OnPoint, Clark and his company have partnered with the Drive to help even more Upstate kids enjoy the exhilaration and opportunity of athletics as together they introduced the OnPoint CFO & Controller Services Home Run Challenge.

For every home run hit at home this season by a Greenville Drive player, OnPoint donates $100 ($500 for a grand slam) - to Upstate charities. And with a fast start in April by the young and exciting Drive team, those charities stand to benefit greatly from the OnPoint CFO & Controller Services Home Run Challenge.

"We are incredibly excited about this partnership with the Drive," notes Clark. "Both OnPoint and the Drive are dedicated to kids and community, and we both are excited about this opportunity to use baseball as a way to support, assist and strengthen kids and communities."

A variety of different Upstate charities will participate as beneficiaries of the OnPoint CFO & Controller Services Home Run Challenge throughout the summer, notes Drive General Manager Mike DeMaine, with each selected charity centered around kids who have special needs.

"Partnering with OnPoint lets us make a vital impact on the Upstate community, providing valuable financial support to charities that focus on helping kids gain self-esteem, appreciate teamwork and develop lasting friendships," DeMaine noted. "We intend to support at least 3 charities in 2010 through the program, and hope that other Upstate companies and individuals will take the challenge as well."

Interested individuals, groups and corporations can "Join The Challenge" by pledging contributions as well, noted Clark. "We've created a section on our website (www.onpointcfo.com) where anyone interested in joining the Home Run Challenge can do so 24/7. Linking is also available from the Drive website (www.greenvilledrive.com).

"Ever since the Drive located in Greenville, we've been active in charitable initiatives like this, appearance by players and mascot Reedy Rip'It, the Drive Reading All-Star program and support of charities like Mauldin Miracle League," added DeMaine. "The OnPoint CFO & Controller Services Home Run Challenge is another way to provide valuable financial support to charities that focus on helping kids gain self-esteem, appreciate teamwork and develop lasting friendships."

An entrepreneur who, after 12 years in public accounting, started OnPoint CFO & Controller Services to offer CFO, controller and bookkeeping services to organizations in need of such services but not on a full-time basis, Clark's passions include business, baseball and helping kids.

On the business side, his OnPoint team likes to "dig into client situations, working hand-in-hand to understand where clients are and helping them plan for the future," he says. "Many businesses need assistance preparing monthly financial statements or readying for an audit, because the need for quality financial insight is escalating. We make top-level insight available to companies who don't need a full time controller, CFO or - many times - even full time financial staff."

A lifetime baseball fan, Clark avidly supports the Greenville Drive team and still finds a way to attend a couple of AL East clashes - preferably Yankees versus Red Sox - each season.

But helping kids is where the real Brian Clark shines. A father of two, he spends much of his spare time coaching - baseball, softball and basketball, among other sports - and is a frequent attendee at Drive games with them throughout the season.

"Watching kids discover themselves, their passions and personalities through sports is incredibly rewarding, and ultimately why we've created the OnPoint CFO & Controller Services Home Run Challenge," says Clark. "Helping kids to discover new friendships and abilities by participating in sports is extremely fulfilling."
