Down 3-0 in the ninth inning, the Generals faced Gabriel Moya for the first time since he was traded from Arizona to Minnesota. The lefty had not allowed an earned run since May 1-in a game against Chattanooga-coming into the night. With one out in the frame, Michael Perez launched a 2-2 pitch over the fence in right field to get Jackson on the board. The last home run Moya allowed was April 18.
Moya (S, 19) responded by retiring the next two men in order. He struck out
Jackson (20-21, 57-54) was held in check by Chattanooga's league-leading staff.

Atkinson allowed just two runs on three hits in 5.2 innings, though he did walk six. The righty struck out five, giving him 145 total across three levels this season.
The loss on Friday drops Jackson to 3.5 behind Montgomery in the Wild Card standings. The Biscuits were rained out and will play a doubleheader against Mobile Saturday.
