With Jackson winning in the bottom of the fifth, a storm popped up that forced a 24-minute delay in the contest. The Lookouts managed to tie the game when play resumed on another run-scoring single from Gordon. That was the last run until Jackson broke the tie nine innings later.
The game was the longest of the season for Jackson both in terms of time (four hours and 17 minutes) and innings (14). With the victory, Jackson avoided dropping four in a row for the first time all season. The Generals also stayed above .500 and three games behind Montgomery in the First Half standings.
