GREENSBORO, NC – The Greensboro Grasshoppers fell to the Hickory Crawdads, 7-4 on Thursday, August 31. The Crawdads improved to 36-20 while the Grasshoppers fell to 28-28. Hickory outhit Greensboro 8-5 as the Grasshoppers had one error.

Leading at the dish for the Grasshoppers was outfielder Sammy Siani as he went 2-3 with a double, one RBI, and one run scored. Hits were also tallied by Tres Gonzalez, Jack Brannigan, and Francisco Acuña.

Starting on the mound for Greensboro was righthanded pitcher J.P. Massey as he tallied two strikeouts and gave up five hits, four earned runs, and four free bases on 2.2 innings of work. Massey took the loss for the Grasshoppers and fell to 2-4 on the season.

Jackson Leath recorded the win for the Crawdads and improved to 3-0 on the season.

The Grasshoppers are back in action at home against the Hickory Crawdads tomorrow, Friday, September 1.
