Caleb Durbin's Big Day Earns Split for Augusta
NORTH AUGUSTA, SC: The finale between the Augusta GreenJackets (7-8) and the Fayetteville Woodpeckers (5-10) was a thriller as the GreenJackets rallied from an early deficit to earn a series split, 6-5.
It was a fast start for the Woodpeckers who scored three times in the opening inning off starting pitcher
Sam Strickland relieved Owens in the second inning for his debut appearance with the GreenJackets and he delivered much-needed innings in longevity as the southpaw tossed 4.1 innings while keeping the Woodpeckers in check.
The GreenJackets would begin their rally in the third inning with an RBI double from Caleb Durbin that scored Brian Klein to make it a 3-1 game. Durbin would later score on a wild pitch, pulling Augusta with a run at 3-2.

Rob Griswold was tasked with the ninth inning on the mound for Augusta after pitching a scoreless eighth inning. The Woodpeckers made it interesting by scoring one run, but Griswold would get Tyler Whitaker to fly out to right field to end the game.
The 6-5 victory for the GreeJackets earned them a split in the six-game series with Fayetteville, Rob Griswold picked up his first win of the season in relief while Fabricio Reina took the loss for the Woodpeckers. Caleb Durbin drove in a total of three runs on three hits, with two of them being doubles to help Augusta fight their way back for their third win of the series.
That concludes act one of the opening homestand for the GreenJackets at SRP Park with the second act beginning on Tuesday with an 11:05 a.m. start time against the Delmarva Shorebird (Baltimore Orioles) for Education Day.
