HAAKE THROWS THREE SCORELESS IN RELIEF BUT NATURALS FALL TO TRAVELERS

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR ­– Northwest Arkansas Naturals right-hander Zach Haake delivered his second three-inning scoreless appearance in relief this week, but the Naturals fell to the Arkansas Travelers, 5-0 Sunday afternoon.

Northwest Arkansas starting pitcher T.J. Sikkema kept the Travelers off the board over the first three innings but ran into trouble in the fourth, allowing three hits with an error that knocked him out of the game.

Haake was the first arm out of the bullpen behind Sikkema and allowed the first three hitters he faced to reach base and two inherited runners scored, then retired the next eight he faced, including six on strikeouts.

Across two relief appearances this week, Haake compiled 6.0 scoreless innings, with just three hits allowed and nine strikeouts.

Yefri Del Rosario came in after Haake allowed a run over 1.1 innings but the Naturals could not get anything on the scoreboard.

Northwest Arkansas entered the ninth with just three hits – two from second baseman and a third inning double from leadoff hitter Tucker Bradley.

Robbie Glendinning and Jake Means doubled in the ninth but the Naturals could not scratch across a run, as both were stranded on in the second shutout loss of the week.

Northwest Arkansas heads back home for a stretch of 12 home games in 13 days at Arvest Ballpark, beginning Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. CT against the San Antonio Missions.
