TACOMA, WA – Tacoma Rainiers’ starting pitcher Emerson Hancock was named Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Month for the month of June by Minor League Baseball on Wednesday.

In four starts with Tacoma, Hancock was 1-0 with a 0.84 ERA, allowing just two earned runs on 14 hits and seven walks over 21.1 innings. He struck out 17 and held opponents to a .187 batting average against him.

After surrendering two runs in his first inning of June, the former first round selection did not allow another run over his last 20.1 innings pitched with the Rainiers. He also made one start for Seattle on June 13 against the Chicago White Sox, allowing two earned runs over 7.0 innings pitched.

The Cairo, Georgia, native was a first-round pick (sixth overall) by Seattle back in 2020 out of the University of Georgia and is in his first season with Tacoma. As of July 10, the 25-year-old has pitched in nine games for Seattle and seven games for Tacoma in 2024.
