Erie SeaWolves middle infielder/outfielder Harold Castro has been selected as the Eastern League Player of the Week for the period of August 7th-August 13th. The 23-year old batted .571 (12-for-21) with four doubles, one triple, five RBIs, five runs scored, three stolen bases, two walks, and a .857 slugging percentage in five games for the SeaWolves last week. Castro, who is a native of Caracas, Venezuela, had at least one hit in all five games he played in last week and collected multiple hits in four of those games. One of those multiple hit games included the second four hit performance of the season for Castro, who went 4-for-5 with a pair of runs scored in an 11-0 win against New Hampshire on Saturday. The 6'0", 165 lb. slugger led all Eastern League players in batting average (.571) and on-base percentage (.609) last week and tied for the league lead in stolen bases (3). He also finished ranked among the weekly leaders in doubles (4-2nd), OPS (1.466-2nd), triples (1-tied 2nd), extra-base hits (5-tied 2nd), hits (12-4th), slugging percentage (.857-4th), and total bases (18-tied 6th). Harold, who currently has a 14-game hitting streak and is hitting .307 with 18 stolen bases in 89 games for the SeaWolves this season, was signed by the Detroit Tigers as a non-drafted free agent on March 15, 2011.

Beau Burrows, a right-handed starting pitcher for the Erie SeaWolves, has been selected as the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for the period of August 7th-August 13th. The 6'2", 200 lb. hurler started one game for the SeaWolves last week and had a record of 1-0 with eight strikeouts and a 0.00 ERA. Burrows, who is a native of Fort Worth, Texas, made his lone start of the week on Saturday night against the visiting New Hampshire Fisher Cats and fired six shutout innings for Erie in an 11-0 victory. Burrows did not allow a hit while striking out eight batters and walking two over his six innings of work. The no-hit bid was broken up in the top of the seventh inning after Burrows had left the game. With his performance last week Beau improved his record to 6-3 and lowered his ERA to 4.38 in 12 starts for the SeaWolves this season. The 20-year led all Eastern League pitchers in batting average against (.000) and WHIP (0.33) last week and tied for the lead in ERA (0.00). He also finished ranked among the weekly leaders in wins (1-tied 2nd) and strikeouts (8-tied 10th). Beau, who is rated by MLB.com as the fourth best prospect in the Detroit organization, was selected by the Detroit Tigers with the 22nd overall pick in the first round of the 2015 draft out of Weatherford High School in Texas.
