Hayes, Keller selected for All-Star Futures Game

CURVE, Pa. - Altoona Curve third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes and former Curve pitcher Mitch Keller have been named to the U.S. roster for the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, Major League Baseball announced on Friday.

The Futures Game showcases the top prospects from around baseball as part of MLB's All-Star festivities and will take place on July 15 at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.
Hayes is currently ranked by MLB.com as the Pirates' No. 3 prospect by MLB.com, as well as the No. 92 prospect in baseball and the No. 7 overall third-base prospect.
For the season with the Curve, Hayes is hitting .290 with four homers, 21 RBIs and is tied for first in the Eastern League with six triples. He was also named to the Western Division roster for the Eastern League All-Star Game, which will be played next Wednesday in Trenton.
Hayes, who won the Minor League Baseball Rawlings Gold Glove Award as the top defensive third baseman in the minors last year, is currently leading all Eastern League third basemen with a .980 fielding percentage and 17 double plays.
A first-round (32nd overall) selection by the Pirates in the 2015 MLB Draft, Hayes is playing his first season with the Curve.
Keller is ranked as the Pirates' No. 1 prospect by MLB.com, and he is also rated as the No. 12 prospect in baseball and the No. 3 right-handed pitcher prospect.
This year, Keller made 14 starts for the Curve, going 9-2 with a 2.72 ERA, before a promotion to Triple-A Indianapolis on June 28. At the time of his promotion, Keller was ranked first in the Eastern League with nine wins, fourth with a 2.72 ERA and a .208 opponents' batting average, third with 86.0 innings pitched and second with 10.05 baserunners allowed per nine innings.
For his Curve career, Keller went 11-4 with a 2.83 ERA over 20 regular-season starts. He was also named as the Eastern League's Postseason MVP in 2017 after going 2-0 with a 1.10 ERA in his two playoff starts as the Curve won the league title.
Drafted in the second round by the Pirates in 2014, Keller has made two starts with Indianapolis since his promotion.
Since the franchise's first season in 1999, the Curve have seen a total of 20 players selected for the Futures Game, including José Bautista, Pedro Álvarez, Starling Marte, Gerrit Cole, Gregory Polanco and Josh Bell.
The SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game will be broadcast live on MLB Network and simulcast on MLB.com on Sunday, July 15 at 4 p.m.
