The Hudson Valley Renegades cranked out season highs in runs and hits as they blasted the Aberdeen IronBirds, 19-1 on Tuesday night.
Ezequiel Duran, Anthony Volpe, James Nelson, Chad Bell, and Pablo Olivares had three hits each to pace a 20-hit attack.
The Gades led 1-0 two batters into the game as Duran tripled in Volpe with the game's first run. Josh Breaux followed with a sacrifice fly to make it 2-0. Hudson Valley added three more in the third, with two coming on a home run by Jake Sanford.
In addition to his triple, Duran homered twice and drove in six. Bell homered twice and drove in four and Josh Breaux also homered as Hudson Valley hit six balls out of Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium.
On the mound, three pitchers held Aberdeen to two hits. Reid Anderson started and allowed an earned run with three walks and seven strikeouts over 4.2 innings. Sean Boyle (1-1) got the win, working the next 3.1 innings. He allowed a hit and struck out five. Carlos Espinal allowed a hit in the ninth but finished off the victory.
The teams meet again tomorrow.
