Murray bounced back with a scoreless second in which he struck out two.
Sugar Land had a response in the bottom of the second inning. Grae Kessinger earned a two-out walk and raced in to score on a double to the left-field gap by Luke Berryhill, making it 3-1 Las Vegas.
Dixon Machado then worked a free pass to put the tying run on base and Pedro León delivered both runners with a triple to deep center field, drawing the Space Cowboys level at 3-3.

The seesaw continued in the top of the third inning as Las Vegas plated three more on four hits, including a two-RBI single from Jonah Bride to push the Aviators ahead 6-3. In the last of the third, Sugar Land managed to get one back on two walks and a throwing error by Tyler Soderstrom, moving the Space Cowboys within a pair at 6-4.
Las Vegas continued the scoring, adding on one in the fourth, but Sugar Land matched the single tally in the bottom of the inning with a solo home run by Machado, his second of the year, staying within two at 7-5. However, the Aviators pushed across two more in the sixth and one more in the seventh to secure the victory.
