The Lynchburg Hillcats drop the final game of the homestand 4-1 to the Fredericksburg Nationals on Sunday night.

The Hillcats (21-27) could never piece together a rally against the Nationals (29-18) despite having several opportunities.

It was the Jared McKenzie show for most of the ballgame as he scored three of the Nationals four runs. One in the first, one in the third, and another in the fifth. The only other Nationals run came on a James Wood solo shot to right field to give them a 4-0 lead.

In the bottom of the sixth, the Hillcats would get a run back when Junior Sanquintin would bring home Isaiah Greene with a ground ball to second. The Hillcats would get two runners in scoring position but were not able to drive home any more runs.

The Hillcats would have several opportunities to put runs on the board but could not trim the deficit. The Hillcats split the series with the Nationals and finished with a 10-8 record over the last three series.

Lynchburg will travel out to Delmarva for a six-game set with the Shorebirds beginning on Tuesday.
