August 6, 2017

Rhys Hoskins broke the single-season home run record with his 27th home run, and Pedro Florimón each added home runs. But the IronPigs (67-45) fell 6-4 to the Buffalo Bisons (49-64) Saturday night at Coca-Cola Field.

Rhys Hoskins broke the single-season home run record with his 27th home run, and Pedro Florimón each added home runs. But the IronPigs (67-45) fell 6-4 to the Buffalo Bisons (49-64) Saturday night at Coca-Cola Field.

After Florimon's two run home run in the top of the fourth inning tied the game at 2, Hoskins unloaded on the first pitch he saw in the top of the fifth.
Hoskins belted a solo shot to give the Pigs a 3-2 edge at the time, his 27th of the year. With the home run, Hoskins passed former IronPigs slugger Andy Tracy who hit 26 home runs in 2009.
The Bisons rallied for a two-run seventh and eighth inning to take a 6-3 lead heading into the final inning.
Crawford tried to kick start a two-out rally in the ninth, as the shortstop launched his 12 home of the season to narrow the deficit to 6-4. The Phillies top prospect has also hit the most long balls in the International League since August 1 with 10 home runs.
Scott Kingery then flew out to the catcher to end the game. The Pigs, however, are 10-5 this season against the Bisons.
The Pigs now conclude their road trip with the final game of the three-game set with the Buffalo Bisons at Coca Cola Field Sunday afternoon. The Pigs will send right-hander Jose Taveras(1-0, 0.00) and the Bisons will send left-hander Brett Oberholtzer (3-7, 4.48). First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 p.m.
