Bowling Green, KY - The Bowling Green Hot Rods (Class-A Midwest League Affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays) are excited to announce the team's game times for their home schedule during the 2020 season. Game times range from special start times at 10:35 AM to standard times of 6:35 PM, all of which are central time.
The regular season begins with the Fort Wayne TinCaps coming to Bowling Green Ballpark on Thursday, April 9th at 6:35 PM. The Hot Rods will host 11 home games on Thursday in 2020 while the team has 10 games in the month of April. Seven of those dates have a 6:35 PM first pitch with two other contests (Saturday, April 11 and Sunday, April 26) beginning at 2:05 PM. The first special start time of 10:35 AM will be against the Great Lakes Loons on Wednesday, April 15 at Bowling Green Ballpark as the first of three 10:35 AM start times during the season.
The month of May features 15 home dates, two of which (Wednesday, May 6 against the Peoria Chiefs and Tuesday, May 19 against the TinCaps) will begin with a 10:35 AM first pitch. May has two Sunday contests at Bowling Green Ballpark, both of which will begin at 5:05 PM while 11 of the games carry a 6:35 PM first pitch.
The third month of the season is highlighted with the Midwest League All-Star event at Bowling Green Ballpark but also hosts 14 home dates. The Wednesday, June 10 contest against the Dayton Dragons is the first of three 12:05 PM start times in the 2020 season. While two additional contests are 2:05 PM starts on Sunday, 11 games carry a 6:35 PM first pitch throughout the month with three games against the West Michigan Whitecaps, seven against the Dragons, and a four-game series that hosts the 2019 Midwest League Champion South Bend Cubs in their first visit to Bowling Green in the 2020 season.
July will see the Hot Rods take the field at home 15 times with two long home stands in the 2020 season. While 11 of those dates will have standard start times of 6:35 PM, The Monday, July 13 contest against Fort Wayne will begin at 12:05. Two of the Hot Rods' Sunday contests will have 5:05 PM first pitches on July 5 against Dayton and July 12 against Fort Wayne, as well.
August brings the final full month of the 2020 season along with the most home games of the season for Bowling Green with 16. The final two Sunday home games of the year will take place with 2:05 PM first pitches on Sunday, August 9 against the Lake County Captains and August 30 against the Whitecaps while the lone weekday early start will take place on Wednesday, August 12 against South Bend at 12:05 PM to conclude the second-to-last homestand of the season. September concludes the regular season without a home game.
In total, the Hot Rods 2020 schedule features three 10:35 AM starts, three 12:05 PM first pitches, seven 2:05 PM start times, four 5:05 PM games, and 53 6:35 PM first pitches during the regular season. Games for the 2020 season align in the following way: 10 Sunday, seven Monday, 10 Tuesday, 10 Wednesday, 11 Thursday, 11 Friday, and 11 Saturday.
