LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 28, 2017) - Blake Hickman struck out a career-high nine batters, as the Intimidators defeated the Lexington Legends 7-0 on Friday night at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. Kannapolis (14-20 Second Half, 53-49) blanked Lexington for the second consecutive game as the Intimidators earned their fourth shutout win of the season.
Hickman (3-5) picked up the win allowing three hits and two walks in six innings to record his sixth quality start in 11 outings this season. Legends starter Nolan Watson (1-6) suffered the loss, going just 2 and 1/3 innings and allowing four runs on five hits with three walks and two strikeouts.
White Sox 2017 first-round pick Jake Burger posted a three-hit performance for the second consecutive night, going 3-for-5 with a run scored and hitting his seventh double of the season.
Zach Remillard also went 3-for-5, with an RBI and a run scored. Aaron Schnurbusch drove in three runs on a double in the top of the second to break the game open, at the time giving the Intimidators a 4-0 lead.
Kannapolis continues a four-game road trip on Saturday with the third game of a four-game series at Lexington. First pitch is at 6:35 p.m. as the Intimidators send to the mound RHP Dylan Cease (0-2, 3.72 ERA) against Legends RHP Ofreidy Gomez (4-9, 5.49 ERA).
