The Salt Lake Bees belted three home runs on Monday, but so did Albuquerque, as the Isotopes prevailed 9-4 to take four games out of five in the season opening series.
Albuquerque scored one run in the second inning, four in the fourth and two in the sixth to take a 7-0 lead, before former Bingham High and BYU star Brennon Lund belted his first Triple-A home run over the centerfield fence to make it 7-1. Jared Walsh followed with a two run homer in the eighth to get Salt Lake back to within four runs, but Elliot Soto hit his second two run shot of the game in the bottom of the eighth to give the Isotopes a 9-3 lead. Bees' catcher Dustin Garneau closed out the scoring with a solo homer in the ninth.
Salt Lake starter Alex Klonowski (0-1) took the loss, as he went just three and two-third innings and allowed five runs on nine hits with four strikeouts and one walk. Lund and Garneau led the Bees with two hits and one run batted in each.
