Jackson Chourio Wins MiLB Rawlings Gold Glove Award®

Adding to his already impressive 2022 campaign, Biloxi Shuckers' outfielder Jackson Chourio has been awarded the MiLB Rawlings Gold Glove Award® in the outfield as announced by Minor League Baseball.
Each year, Rawlings awards nine Gold Gloves for the Minor Leagues, one for each position. Between Low-A Carolina, High-A Wisconsin and Biloxi, Chourio recorded 289 putouts and had six outfield assists. The 18-year-old committed just three errors in the outfield and helped turn a double play from his position in centerfield.
Chourio has garnered numerous honors for his breakout 2022 campaign in which he was also named the 2022 Robin Yount Brewers' Minor League Player of the Year, the Carolina League MVP and Best Prospect and a MiLB Postseason Organizational All-Star. Across three levels, Chourio slashed .288/.342/.538 with 30 2B, 5 3B, 20 HR, 75 RBI and 75 runs scored in 99 games. The Maracaibo, Venezuela was promoted to Biloxi for the final six games of the 2022 season and is slated to begin the 2023 season back with the Shuckers.
This is the third time a Shuckers' player has claimed a Rawlings Gold Glove Award®, joining Orlando Arcia who won a Gold Glove at shortstop in the franchises' inaugural season in 2015 and Troy Stokes Jr. who won an outfield Gold Glove in 2018.
The 2023 schedule has been announced for the Shuckers with Opening Day on April 7 at the Mississippi Braves before coming back to Biloxi to begin their home schedule on Tuesday, April 12 at MGM Park.
