The Yankees' top two prospects -- Jasson Domínguez and Austin Wells -- have flashed a lot of home run power this season for Double-A Somerset. Lately, they've been taking over games with their pop together.

Domínguez, New York's top-ranked prospect, has clubbed six in 31 games, while No. 2 Wells has six homers in just 12 contests for the Patriots.

For the second time in three games, the two each launched a long ball Thursday en route to Somerset's 10-3 win over visiting Reading at TD Bank Ballpark. That's something Somerset's getting used to seeing -- the tandem has gone yard four total times in the month of May.

Thursday's fireworks show began in the second inning, when Wells lined a homer to right field off the Phillies' Tyler Phillips. Two innings later, Domínguez -- baseball's No. 37 overall prospect -- swatted a two-run shot to right-center field off the right-hander.

Wells was simply picking up where he left off after having Wednesday off. In Tuesday's three-hit game, the catcher pulled a line-drive homer and then watched the center fielder hit one out to center two frames later en route to Somerset's 14-10 win over the Fightin' Phils.

They also went yard in the same game on May 9 against Portland. Two batters into the game, "The Martian" launched one to right off Red Sox prospect Brian Van Belle. Wells added another two-run shot to right-center off the righty in the fifth as Somerset topped the Sea Dogs, 8-4.

The flashiest pair of the tandem's homers came on May 6 against Binghamton, as Domínguez and Wells went back-to-back in the first inning off Mets farmhand José Chacin. The 20-year-old mashed one to right and the 23-year-old followed with a tater to left-center. The Patriots won that game as well, 4-3.

Per MLB Pipeline, Domínguez possesses a 60-power grade with Wells close behind at 55. After a slow start, the Dominican native has raised his average to .212, while the 2020 first-rounder out of Arizona sports a slash line of .258/.338/.959.

With New York's big league club struggling to stay healthy in the outfield and behind the dish, the two prospects are flashing impressive power at the right time and proving that, yes, hitting balls out of the yard is contagious when they're penciled into the same lineup.
