The two teams exchanged zeroes for the first two innings, until the Hops busted through in the bottom frame of the third inning.
Boise struck back with a punch of their own in the top of the fourth, denying Holton and the Hops the much-needed shut down inning in tight ball games. Trey Jacobs ripped a ball to right field that bounced over the fence for a ground rule double, scoring Daniel Cope who reached on an error earlier in the inning.
However, in every rebellion, there is hope, and the Hops found that hope in the bottom half of the fifth inning. Barrosa channelled the force through him and singled to left, scoring fellow Jedi Ricky Martinez.
The Hops bullpen did not allow an earned run to the Boise Hawks over the last 18 innings of baseball played.
Hillsboro's pitching staff struck out 16 hitters tonight.
The Hops return tomorrow night at Ron Tonkin Field at 7:05 pm against the Tri-City Dust Devils. The game can be watched on Root Sports and heard on Rip City Radio 620 AM with pregame show beginning at 6:35pm.
