Tseng, 22, was recognized as the Cubs Minor League Player of the Year after compiling a 13-4 record with a 2.54 ERA (41ER/145.1IP), 127 strikeouts and 38 walks between Double-A Tennessee and Iowa this season. He also was recognized by the organization as the Minor League Pitcher of the Month for July (4-1, 2.25 ERA), and earned PCL Pitcher of the Week honors for July 17-23 along the way.
In nine starts during his first stint with Iowa this season, Tseng posted a 6-1 record with a 1.80 ERA (11ER/55.0IP). He became the first I-Cub to win his first four Triple-A starts since
The Cubs signed Tseng as a non-drafted free agent in July of 2013. In 87 career games (85 starts) across four seasons, he boasts a 32-20 record with a 3.17 ERA (170ER/482.2IP).
