JIMMY BUFFETT NIGHT DRAWS ALL-TIME LARGEST CROWD AT SMOKIES STADIUM

SEVIERVILLE, TENNESSEE - Never has there been a larger crowd at Smokies stadium. 8,164 Smokies fans showed up to Jimmy Buffett Tribute Night, making it the first crowd to ever surpass eight thousand fans at the ballpark.
Despite being hot at the plate, the Smokies fell to the Lookouts 7-5. Ian Rice and Trey Martin sparked the Tennessee offense, recording multi-hit games.
Chattanooga jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first, but the Smokies responded with a four-spot in the second inning to take a 4-3 lead. Carlos Penalver hit a solo home run to tie things up following Ian Rice's two-run homer. After the back-to-back jacks, Erick Castillo hit an RBI single to score Jeffrey Baez and take the lead.
In the bottom of the fourth, Martin singled to score Kevin Cornelius and give the Smokies their fifth run of the game. Martin finished 3-for-5 at the plate with an RBI and Rice finished 2-of-4 with two RBIs. Penalver and Castillo finished with an RBI a piece.
Jen-Ho Tseng received the start on Saturday night for Tennessee, turning in a six inning performance. Tseng allowed three runs on seven hits and struck out five. David Garner and Craig Brooks saw action in relief, combining to pitch three scoreless innings. The Smokies out-hit the Lookouts 10-to-seven, but two errors in the top of the sixth proved costly.
The Smokies are back in action tomorrow afternoon for the series finale. First pitch of the first-half finale is set for 2 p.m. ET. Tomorrow will be U.S. Cellular Family Sunday and we'll have a special Father's Day Card Show featuring Sports Treasure, The Dugout of Pigeon Forge and Scenic City Memorabilia and Collectibles starting at 12 p.m. The first 250 fans will receive a pack of baseball cards courtesy of Sports Treasure. Fans will be able to play catch with dad on the field between 12:30 pm and 1:15 pm to celebrate Father's Day.
