Harrisburg Senators outfielder Hunter Jones has been selected as the Eastern League Player of the Week for the period of July 16th-July 22nd. The 26-year old batted .500 (10-for-20) with one double, one triple, one home run, eight RBIs, five runs scored, one stolen base, four walks, and a .800 slugging percentage in five games last week. Jones, who is a native of Seattle, Washington, had at least one hit in all five games he played in last week and had multiple hits in four of those games. Jones kicked off his week by hitting a walk off grand slam in the bottom of the ninth inning as part of a 3-for-3 performance in Harrisburg's 6-3 come from behind win over Akron on Monday night. The 6'2", 185 lb. slugger tied for the league lead in hits (10) last week and also finished ranked among the weekly leaders in batting average (.500-2nd), on-base percentage (.600-2nd), OPS (1.400-2nd), triples (1-tied 2nd), RBIs (8-tied 2nd), slugging percentage (.800-3rd), runs scored (5-tied 6th), total bases (16-tied 6th), and stolen bases (1-tied 10th). Hunter, who is hitting .333 in 41 games with Harrisburg this season, was signed by the Washington Nationals as a minor league free agent on January 27, 2018. He was originally selected by the Cleveland Indians in the 11th round of the 2010 draft out of Lakewood High School in California.

Jordan Romano, a right-handed starting pitcher for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, has been selected as the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for the period of July 16th-July 22nd. The 6'4", 200 lb. hurler started a pair of games for the Fisher Cats last week and had a record of 1-0 with 12 strikeouts and a 1.23 ERA. Romano, who is a native of Markham, Ontario, made his first start of the week on Monday against the visiting Trenton Thunder and took a no-decision in New Hampshire's 4-2 victory. He gave up two runs on five hits while striking out four batters and walking one over 6.2 innings of work. Romano made his second start of the week on Saturday against the visiting Harrisburg Senators and fired eight shutout innings in New Hampshire's 2-0 win. He gave up just three hits and struck out eight batters while improving his record to 9-4 on the season and lowering his ERA to 3.55. The 25-year old led all Eastern League pitchers in innings pitched (14.2) last week. He also ranked among the weekly leaders in WHIP (0.61-3rd), strikeouts (12-4th), wins (1-tied 4th), batting average against (.157-7th), and ERA (1.23-10th). Jordan, who is rated by MLB.com as the 27th best prospect in the Toronto organization, was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 10th round of the 2014 draft out of Oral Roberts.
