Jose Rojas Wins PCL Player of the Week

SALT LAKE CITY (July 19, 2022) – Minor League Baseball announced Salt Lake Bees infielder Jose Rojas as the winner of the Pacific Coast League Player of the Week award for July 11-17 today. Rojas joins David MacKinnon as Bees hitters to win the award this season.
On the week Rojas had 10 hits, including four home runs while driving in 10 and scoring eight. Rojas is riding a 10-game hitting streak and just finished a streak of collecting an RBI in 11 consecutive games, tied for the longest streak in Major or Minor League Baseball this season and the longest streak for a Salt Lake batter in 16 years.
The Anaheim, California native is in his fourth year with the Bees and last week moved to fifth place in franchise history with 54 career home runs in Salt Lake uniform. With Rojas powering the offense the Bees won five of their final seven games going into the All-Star break.
The Bees return to Smith’s Ballpark for a three-day Pioneer Day weekend series against the Tacoma Rainiers on Friday night.
