JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jeff Lindgren worked 4.0 scoreless innings on Wednesday, but the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp were stifled by the Gwinnett Stripers 2-1 from 121 Financial Ballpark.
Lindgren yielded just one hit through 4.0 innings with three strikeouts before departing. With Jacksonville (68-71, 36-29) ahead 1-0, new reliever Austin Roberts (1-2) walked Yolmer Sánchez to begin the fifth. Joe Hudson’s double plated Sánchez to tie the game. After a pair of outs, Andrew Velazquez’s RBI single put Gwinnett (65-73, 32-31) up 2-1.
The Jumbo Shrimp mustered only three hits from the fourth inning-on. Stripers reliever Dereeck Rodriguez (3-4) earned the win with 3.0 scoreless innings, and Grant Holmes pitched a scoreless ninth for his 13th save.
In a scoreless third inning, Jake Mangum walked and stole second with two outs. He scored on a base hit by Jacob Amaya to put Jacksonville ahead initially.
